Pallet Racking Solutions
At Kiwi Choice, we supply heavy-duty pallet racking across New Zealand, from selective and double-deep systems through to push-back and custom-configured racking built around your specific operation. We carry both new and used options, so whether you’re fitting out a brand-new facility or expanding an existing one on a tight budget, there’s a solution that works.
We deliver NZ-wide, and if you need installation support, our team can handle that too. Tell us what you’re storing, how you access it, and what equipment you’re running, and we’ll put together a layout that maximises your space from day one.
Why Choose Kiwi Choice’s Shelving for Pallet Racking?
Designed Around Your Workflow
We configure our systems with forklift access, optimal aisle width, and picking routes in mind. We work with you to design a layout that maximises vertical space while ensuring operations run smoothly.
Racking Built for Serious Loads
Shelving for pallet racking needs to handle serious weight without compromise. Whether stacking lighter goods or heavy materials, we never cut corners—our racking solutions are built to last.
Fast Quote & Installation Process
Time is money when you’re setting up or expanding your warehouse. From quote to installation, we handle the entire process and can even prioritise urgent orders to get you operational faster.
New and Used Options Available
Not every project calls for brand-new racking. Our used pallet shelving range gives you access to quality second-hand systems at a fraction of the cost. They’re inspected, reconfigured if needed, and ready to go.
Our Pallet Racking Systems
Not all pallet storage shelves are the same. The right system depends on how you access stock, what you’re storing, how your forklifts move, and how much floor space you can afford to dedicate to the aisles. Here’s a quick rundown of the systems we carry:
The most widely used system in NZ warehouses. Every pallet is directly accessible, making it ideal for operations with a wide range of SKUs or high stock turnover. Works with standard counterbalance and reach forklifts.
Engineered for operations storing dense, heavy loads (steel, timber, machinery, bulk goods). Our heavy pallet racking is rated for serious capacity and built to withstand the demands of industrial environments.
Store two pallets deep per lane to significantly increase storage density. A good compromise between selective access and maximum capacity; best suited to operations with lower SKU counts or bulk stock.
A last-in, first-out (LIFO) system where pallets are loaded from the front and pushed back along inclined rails. Excellent density gains without sacrificing forklift accessibility. Popular for bulk storage of similar products.
If your space has unusual dimensions, specific load requirements, or workflow constraints, we’ll design a system around it. Adjustable beam heights mean your racking can adapt as your business changes.
Quality pallet storage shelves don’t have to be brand-new. Our used pallet shelving range is a cost-effective way to fit out your warehouse—inspected and available in a range of configurations.
Pallet Racking Accessories

Rack Protectors & Column Guards
Protect your upright frames from forklift impact, one of the most common causes of racking damage in busy operations.

Mesh Decks
Wire mesh decking provides a stable surface for non-palletised goods and improves visibility and airflow throughout your pallet racking system.

Timber & Steel Shelving Boards
Add shelving for pallet racking bays to support smaller items, cartons, or irregular loads that don’t sit cleanly on beams alone.

Safety Clips & Beam Locks
Keep beams locked securely in position under load. This is an essential safety component, so don’t skip it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Start by assessing what you’ll be storing and how you plan to access it. Consider the weight and dimensions of palletised loads, available floor space, and ceiling height. Think about how often you need to retrieve stock—high-turnover items require different racking configurations than long-term storage.
It’s also important to factor in material handling equipment, as this will determine the best pallet storage shelves for your operation. We can evaluate these factors with you and recommend an ideal solution.
It varies by system, beam size, and upright gauge. Most standard selective racking handles between 900 kg and 2,000 kg per beam level, with heavy pallet racking configurations going significantly higher. Always work from the actual weight of your heaviest loaded pallet, not an estimate, and ensure load ratings are clearly displayed once installed.
The maximum height of shelving for pallet racking depends on a few factors, including your facility’s ceiling height, the type of racking system, load requirements, and local building codes.
In New Zealand warehouses, pallet racks typically range from 3 to 12 metres high, but can be higher in facilities with adequate ceiling clearance and appropriate structural support. Taller systems require careful consideration of seismic requirements, forklift reach capacity, and proper anchoring.
Anchoring heavy-duty pallet racking to the floor is essential in virtually all cases. It prevents shifting or tipping under load, which is critical in high-traffic forklift environments.
Your racking must also meet the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 requirements, including appropriate load ratings and regular inspections. Our team handles anchoring and compliance as part of installation.
New racking gives you full configuration flexibility, manufacturer warranties, and clean compliance documentation. Used pallet shelving can cut upfront costs significantly, and is a smart option when you’re expanding quickly or working with a tighter budget. Our used stock is inspected before sale and available in a range of sizes and capacities.
