Selective Pallet Racking

The biggest advantage of selective pallet racking systems is the direct access to every pallet without having to move other stock first. They’re ideal for warehouses holding diverse product ranges or items that move at different speeds—you can retrieve exactly what you need, when you need it.

These systems also offer incredible flexibility, allowing you to adjust beam heights to accommodate different pallet sizes and reconfigure your layout as your inventory changes. They’re fantastic for FIFO (first-in, first-out) management, reducing the risk of expired or obsolete inventory sitting at the back.

Standard selective pallet racks are built for versatility. They can handle a wide range of pallet sizes and load weights. Most systems can accommodate standard NZ pallet dimensions—1200mm x 1000mm—as well as custom or oversized pallets when configured properly.

The exact capacity depends on your specific configuration, but selective racking typically handles anywhere from 1,000kg to 4,000kg per pallet position. The exact capacity will depend on the beam spacing, the strength of the upright frame, and the distribution of loads across the system.

Keeping your selective racking systems safe and well-maintained involves a few straightforward practices:
